Selected religion of the human has a deep influence in his beliefs and his followed values and traditions. And the scientific researches of people are greatly affected by their belief system and accepted values. Accordingly, the religion of Islam can play a critical role in humanities, including historiography. Considering this point, these questions arise “what is the concept of Islamic historiography?” and “What is its principles?” In this article these questions have been answered with the method of diligence – analytic. Every historical research which rests on Islam in each of these five dimensions; topic, foundation, purpose, resource and method is considered Islamic. Realism, applicability, the priority of Shiite Kalam, the domination of divine principles, the lead of pure intelligence and plausibility are known as Islamic historiographic principles. Moreover, it should not be inconsistent with the holy Quran and hadiths of the innocents.
