Transhumanism represents a prominent scientific-technological movement with a futuristic outlook, emphasizing the transformative potential of emerging technologies. This movement claims that advancements such as human biological enhancement, modifications to human cognitive and physical systems, and innovations in learning will fundamentally reshape education. Transhumanists predict that with the rapid development and integration of such technologies, traditional forms of education become obsolete in the near future. The purpose of this study, using descriptive-analytical methods is to explore the educational perspectives of transhumanists and critically analyze some of the key challenges their ideas pose to education.
The results show that although transhumanist ideas suggest various opportunities for education, their predictions regarding education are thought-provoking and transhumanist’s views can be criticized in many ways. Therefore, foresight and future study in this field can make the confrontation of education with technology smarter.
